PEPSCAN Therapeutics is a world leader in applying peptide & protein mimicry technology for the generation of molecular therapeutics, in particular monoclonal antibodies and therapeutic peptides.
Combinatorial chemistry was invented at PEPSCAN, and the company continues to lead in sophisticated peptide chemistries. It's most recent advancement is the proprietary CLIPS™ technology, which allows structural fixation of linear peptides. It provides a versatile tool to mimic protein binding sites by stabilizing peptides in the biologically relevant conformation. The CLIPS™ technology has found a wealth of applications:
- Antibody discovery: Synthetic CLIPS™ immunogens, mimicking the biologically relevant parts of target GPCR's, have proven highly successful in yielding functional antibodies.
- Therapeutic peptides: CLIPS™ technology has shown to improve the activity and stability of existing or candidate peptide drugs, and thus provide great opportunities for new therapeutic peptide drugs.
- Epitope Mapping: With CLIPS™ Epitope Mapping a next level in epitope elucidation has been reached, with clear advantages over X-ray crystallography: it provides uniquely detailed binding information on the level of single amino acid, and hence offers IP opportunities for new antibodies
- Custom peptide services: Through its PRESTO sister company, PEPSCAN technologies are also applied in a range of custom peptide services.
